You may be wondering… What exactly goes into the “editing” process?
There is a lot that goes into editing a photograph!
It can entail increasing contrast, adjusting the white balance, changing color hues, adjusting brightness, removing skin flaws, slimming down unattractive body parts, erasing distracting backgrounds, adding special effects like vignettes, etc.
Furthermore, each image goes through two different rounds of editing. The first round of editing is where I make minor tweaks to the straight out of the camera image to make it presentable for proofing. The second round (which is done in the “extensive editing phase”) is the artistic vision I see for your photograph & is where I can get really creative in Photoshop and create some great photographic art. I see something different & unique in each photograph I take and the same goes for editing. The possibilities are endless! You will receive a mixture of both on your CD, some images may need more editing, and some less.
In the following examples, the “proof” photo is the photo after the first round of editing (this is the image that you will see in your proofing galleries if you want to pick out more photos to add to your cd, I will then edit the selected photos you choose “extensively”), and the “edited” photo is the image after extensive retouching work that I will use for prints, albums, canvases, and on your portrait CDs. Wedding CD’s are a mixture of both, depending on the images and my vision for each picture.

You may also be wondering… Why are your photographs so much more than your local one-hour photo?
As you can see, a lot goes into the editing process. The process that each image goes through before being printed can take hours and is very skilled work, so it is priced accordingly. Usually the one-hour photo place is using low-quality paper, older equipment and does zero editing AND usually ends up looking worse, not better than the original. When you order from Posh, your images will be printed by a professional photo lab on super high-quality photographic paper and whatever time it takes to carefully tweak and retouch the image, as well as my guarantee that if something is wrong with the print you receive, I will replace it free of charge until you are satisfied.![]()
